Reverse Osmosis Water Systems in Montgomery and Bucks County

Reverse osmosis is the tightest filter you can put on your drinking water. It pushes water through a membrane fine enough to hold back PFAS, lead, arsenic, nitrates, and most of what shows up in local utility reports, then delivers it to a dedicated faucet at the kitchen sink. We test your water free, install the system in a morning, and change the filters on a schedule.

What Reverse Osmosis Removes

An RO system runs your water through a sediment pre-filter, a carbon filter, and a semi-permeable membrane with pores far smaller than a bacterium. Dissolved contaminants that pass straight through ordinary filters are held back and flushed to the drain. The clean water fills a small tank under the sink and comes out of its own faucet.

Across Montgomery and Bucks County, utility reports list PFOA and PFOS, arsenic, lead, radium, and chlorination byproducts above the EPA's health goals. RO is designed to reduce every one of those at the tap you cook and drink from, which is why it is the system we reach for first when a report or well test shows a contaminant rather than a taste or scale problem.

Signs Reverse Osmosis Is the Right System

  • Your town's water report lists PFOA, PFOS, arsenic, lead, radium, or nitrates
  • You are on a private well that has never had a full contaminant panel
  • You buy bottled water because you do not trust the tap
  • Someone in the house is pregnant, an infant, or immunocompromised
  • You want the best drinking water without treating the whole house
  • Your water tastes or smells of chlorine or chemicals

Point-of-Use vs. Whole-Home

RO is a point-of-use system: it treats the one tap you install it on. That is a feature, not a limitation. It makes the system small, affordable, and efficient, and the water you actually swallow is the water that matters most for contaminants like PFAS and lead.

If you also want showers, laundry, and every other tap covered, pair it with whole-home carbon filtration at the main line. If your problem is hardness rather than contaminants, you want a softener. Many homes end up with a softener for the house and RO for the kitchen, and the free test is how we figure out which combination you need.

  • Dedicated faucet at the kitchen sink; optional line to the refrigerator and ice maker
  • Multi-stage: sediment, carbon, membrane, and a polishing filter
  • Optional remineralization stage if you prefer the taste of mineral water
  • Filters changed about once a year, membrane every few years
  • Installed under the sink with its own drain connection and shutoff

Why Install It Now

The EPA finalized a 4 parts-per-trillion limit for PFOA and PFOS in 2024, and utilities have until 2029 to meet it. Several local systems report levels above that today, legally. A home RO system covers the gap now rather than waiting for the utility's treatment upgrades.

It also costs less than the bottled water most families buy to avoid the tap, and it removes the plastic and the hauling.

FAQ

Common Questions

Reverse osmosis is one of the two technologies the EPA identifies as effective for PFOA and PFOS, along with activated carbon. Our systems are designed to reduce PFAS at the tap they are installed on. The free test and your town report tell us what level you are starting from.

Yes. Lead, arsenic, nitrates, radium, and most dissolved metals are held back by the membrane. These are the contaminants that ordinary pitcher and fridge filters do little for.

We quote it after the free test, as one flat upfront price that includes installation, the faucet, and any fridge line. The number depends on the stages you need and the plumbing under your sink.

Every RO system sends some water to the drain to carry away what the membrane rejects. Modern units run a few gallons per gallon produced, and since it only runs for drinking and cooking water, the amount is small on a household bill.

It removes most dissolved minerals along with the contaminants. If you prefer the taste, we can add a remineralization stage that puts calcium and magnesium back in after the membrane.

Yes. A line to the refrigerator and ice maker is a common add-on, and it means the ice and the water dispenser get the same filtered water as the faucet.

Pre- and post-filters about once a year, the membrane every two to five years depending on your water. We can schedule it so you never have to think about it.
